I think Tony is confusing ACPI with MPS 1.1/1.4.

If you're going to put Win2K onto a BP6, make sure you flash the bios
with the latest qq beta available from:

ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/beta/bp6/bios/BP6_QQ.ZIP dated 15/03/2000
(there is a later 'release' version of the bios but this is causing
some problems under Win2k).

This version of the bios enables ACPI (Advanced Configuration and
Power Interface) and MPS (multi-processor specification) 1.4 to work
correctly under Win2K.

There is a lot of discussion about this on the www.bp6.com
messageboard. I also found a simple explanation of MPS 1.1/1.4 at
http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/r440lx/mps.htm
and some links on ACPI at http://www.teleport.com/~acpi/

My dual 366 Celeron @ 550MHz BP6 is working 'rock solid' under Win2K
Pro, but I have a SCSI setup and haven't attempted to use the on-board
HPT UDMA 66 controller, which seems to cause a lot of grief.
