Hi Trevor,

(A late response to your post).

Assuming you hold a legitimate licence for the software I can't see a
problem transferring it to new machine.

Most Microsoft licences (not sure about WP) allow you to install a copy
on principle machine and, providing you're the primary user, another
copy on a second machine, usually a portable.

If you keep the 166MMX as a backup machine you could probably keep
copies on both, on the basis that you will only be using one at a time.
Should you part with the 166MMX then you are supposed to wipe any
software that you retain, unless you pass on the full licences as well.

Though it's also probably true to say that the full legality and scope
of some software licences has yet to be tested in law.

Shouldn't be a problem providing you have correct disks or CDs from
which to install, together with any licence/key numbers required by
install routine.

Yes - although Win95 and Win98 backup programs are different it works
here OK.

Windows Direct Cable Connection if you retain the Win95 machine. For
this you will need a parallel (Laplink) or serial (null modem) cable to
join the two machines. Alternatively, external Zip or other high
capacity floppy drive that you can move between them.
