I've sorted iut the cross-posting problem now I think!

Trying another (older) 5150EQ on the controller the drive worked! However, 
the suspect drive just chugs and stops when it tries to write to the tape.
I have spoken to a Wang Tech Support chap who says it's almost definitely
something wrong with the drive......I have tried cleaning the heads but that 
didn't work....what could be wrong?

As to the DEST problem - does anyone know of a contact who knows anything
technical about DEST Scanners? Specifically Dest PC Scan Plus and Scan 3000.
