I have recently upgraded to a VESA 486 DX2 66 Green Board and for a
while was using a standard IDE 16 bit I/O card. By altering the jumpers
on the i/o card I had 3 comms ports at 03F8 02F8 and 02E8 when my Zoltrix
FM-VSP144UI voice/fax modem was installed on comm2 irq3 02F8 and
everything worked fine.
I then bought a PT 627B Enhanced IDE card and it works fine with DOS
and Windows 3.11, _BUT_ I cannot get my modem to work with it despite
trying all logical jumpers variations to disable comm2 or reset comm2
to comm4.
COMIT /dc (diagnostics) then reports more than 1 card on comm2 and
modem will click but not respond to AT commands.
So I bought another EIDE card, a PT628B and I still have the same
problem. All reasonable and logical jumper settings have been tried
without success.
Any suggestions on solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
