I will be upgrading my PC from DX4-100 to P166 next weekend. I have had
a look at Scan Computers website and the FEAR 5 HX mainboard seems to be
the best board for me, it has upgradable cache, support for most types
of ram, plus it can take a P200 so it is a little future resistant. I
use Win95 and OS/2 Warp most of the time but I love flight sims, the
main reason for the P166 incedentally, does anybody know of any problems
installing these boards with either Win95 or Warp? I must confess having
never heard of the BIOS before (SMT ?) but the Triton II chipset seems
pretty popular.

Scan also sell a board with the Intel Endeavour chipset and an AMI BIOS
but the fly in the ointment is that is comes with a sound system on
board (Vibra 16), I already have an AWE32, can the sound system be
disabled on these boards? Would this type of board be a better bet than
the FEAR 5?

I have E-Mailed these questions to Scan but they don't seem to read
their mail so if somebody could help me out with an answer, I'd be very
grateful.
