I'm soon to be purchasing a pentium system. Probably going to be NT based. - Which cheap PCI SCSI card should I be looking at ? (Normal SCSI not Wide etc) There's the NCR and the Future Domain to choose from. Most talk around here is on the NCR810 variety. As I want a total SCSI system I think I need the the 815, is this correct. Whats the Future Domain card like compared to the NCR. NCR's are about 20-30 quid cheaper, but which would be better. And is there a version of the FD I should look for for onboard BIOS. - MB is probably going to be Endeavour as they're getting pretty cheap. Regarding simms for this, is it fussy about mix'n'matching different makes/parity/non-parity simms. I already have 2 8mb simms (Samsung) and I have one 16mb (siemans) all these are 32bit and one 36bit 4mb (dunno make, on the chips 'NMBS' on the board 'PNY'). I was thinking of getting either an additional 4mb or/and 16mb simm so I can have either a 24/40/48mb combo. I know they have to be in pairs but do the make of simms have to match. Could I have 1x4mb parity and 1x4mb non-parity. Any other probs you can see ? Lastly anyone used the new Epson GT5000 Scanner. Are they any good. and do these have both SCSI and Parallel ports as standard like the 8500/9000 models. Also seen HP bringing out a cheaper colour scanner (Scanjet 4P) I don't spose they are actually in the shops yet are they or has anyone actually got one, comments ? . . . . . . . . . w a i t a o . . . . waitao@blacksun.demon.co.uk . . .
