Here'a a strange one for the technocrats.....a friend of mine has just upgraded his machine from 4 to 8Mb and is now having 'problems' with the joystick port config. Prior to the upgrade the joystick was plugged into the sound card and setup in software, also the gameport on the multi I/O was enabled!!. Now the gameport on the sound card is very very slow in operation and in some instances the software will not see the joystick, but when the gameport on the soundcard is disabled the gameport on the multi I/O works OK. He has one hard drive and an IDE CDROM. I suspected that the two port were competing, but when the gameport was disabled on the multi I/O it made no difference. The setup has been like this for 11 months and worked perfectly well until the ram was upgraded. I am open to any helpful suggestions........ -- ************************************************************************ * Regds Alan * Always Remember Tomorrow * ************************************ Is the First day Of The * *EMAIL to Alan@jjackson.demon.co.uk* Rest of Your Life * ************************************************************************
