COMPAQ 450 and 440 Monitors: What are they? I have a couple of Compaq monitors at the moment, which may be going back to the person who sold them to me. One is a 17" (Model 450) and the other 15" (440). They are possibly badged NEC 5Gxx and 3Gxx 's? Each has a row of 6 pairs of buttons under the screen for 2 pairs for vertical and horizontal position, one pair for vertical size and one pair for horizontal size. the others are contrast and brightness. The horizontal and vertical size controls seem to auto adjust for pin-cushioning to a degree. They have 5 BNC connectors. Problem is that I don't know for sure what their frequency capabilities are, and whilst they seem to be FST, the image also seems to bow inwards, particularly noticeable in spreadsheet displays. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Are they microprocessor controlled. How good are they? -- David Longley
