Does anybody know how to make a Mitsumi CRMC FX400 EIDE CD-ROM drive run
at single speed under DOS 6.2?
The reason I want to do this is that I couldn't get this months Computer
Shopper cover CD to work. When I rang CS's help line I was told that it
was a dodgy batch with too thin a reflective layer, but that it would
work at single speed. The drive's manual didn't mention changing the
speed so I rang the people I got it from, they said that I could slow it
down under '95 but not DOS...<bangs head against wall>! Is this true or
is there a way to slow it down, or even some other way to make this CD
work? I could hassle Computer Shopper some more but I expect that they
will just tell me that all the disks are the same and there's nothing
they can do.
