For the second time now I've come across a problem were a floppy disk drive retains the "image" of a disk and imprints it another. Unfortunately I can't remember how it was last solved :-( Basically, a disk is put into the drive and DIR A:, not surprisingly, displays the directory. Remove that disk, put in a another, and do DIR A: and you get not only the same response, but the disk now in the drive becomes a duplicate of the first one. Smartdrive is REMmed out so there is no write back cacheing to the floppy disk drive going on. The machine is also networked and the autoexec and config files are no different to any other machine. I do recall the first time I saw this happen, it was with a machine that had just been fitted with a new PCI bus motherboard. There may have been some tweeking of the CMOS settings to correct the problem, though whether this is of any relevance or not I don't know. Anyway, all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. -- ---------------------------------- | EMail david@dagorn.demon.co.uk | ---------------------------------- -- ---------------------------------- | EMail david@dagorn.demon.co.uk | ----------------------------------
