A friend of mine has a problem with his 4 gig Quantum Grand Prix drive. When he powers up the machine, the drives sounds like its going to spin-up for about a second and then it just dies. If there a simple solution that does not involve returning the drive to Quantum (expected to take 4-6 weeks to return). He also has about 300 meg of unbacked-up data on the drive (sods law, he powers down the machine to plug in the DAT drive and it fails), so he would like it working again. -- Rajesh Varia raj@c4rv.demon.co.uk
