I've got a Zoltrix 28800 fax/voice modem. The problem is with the telephone input. As these are american style modular sockets I got hold of a BT to Modular adapter from Maplins Electronics, and it works just fine ... But the bloody thing won't ring! Sure, it dials, and it speaks and listens, but when someone calls me my phone stays silent (it's a nice lit up one as well, and it's supposed to flash!) I tried swapping the two innermost cables on a tip, but even though the phone still worked, it still didn't ring. Does anyone out there know if it's the modem that's at fault (perhaps it just doesn't pass on the ring?), or is the adapter inadequate? Any help would be greatly appreciated (even just an Email address for Zoltrix (or FAX) would be handy. Thanks in advance.
