These two error messages are very different. The printer error message
can be avoided (not suppressed) by redirecting prn output to a file with
the freeware prn2file program. The program can not simply be stiffled
over a disk read or write error. If encountering an error on reading
a file for required data, what is the program to do? Make it up? Assume
that the programmer was wrong and that the data was not needed? You better
have some really smart program to do all that! I can imagine a fix from
a program to force DOS to make a few more silent retries without crapping
out, but that's probably the best to hope for. And I've not seen one.

Regards,
