Thanks for all your help with my video card problem.  Just to clarify
something, I was thinking of spending about 100 UKP at the most.
However, after reading your advice and looking through a magazine review
I found on video cards, I am wondering if I would be better off in the
long run getting something a little better than a 1MB card.  The review
reckoned that the Diamond Stealth Video 64 (or something like that) is
the best of the ones they tested, and it is cheaper than other cards that
aren't as good.  I've seen it advertised for about 235 +VAT (but that was
in a June issue of the magazine-I wonder what it is now?).  Can anyone
back up that it is about the best for the price?  If so, I think I may
go crazy and get that along with a much needed CD ROM on credit.  Naughty
I know, but I cannot resist it!

By the way, someone questioned what I wrote about wanting 1024 by 1024,
16 M colours.  Well, sorry to mis-lead you but that is what I THOUGHT I
had before.  I understand it all clearly now though.  All I basically
want is the best possible for the least price-But don't we all?  I mainly
use Windows at the moment (just the basic progs such as MS-Office &
Internet software), and hardly any games, but I want to be prepared for
the future with a CD ROM and any other delightful gadgets I can get my
hands on, so I want a card that will be good for future applications.
