Hi Mike,

This question is something of an open invitation for a 'my monitor's
better than yours free-for-all' :-)

I was moved to respond only because I have been so impressed with my
monitor over the years that I thought I should sing it's praises. It's
a SONY CPD1730, a trinitron edge-to-edge 17" monitor with a 0.24 dot
picth, it's non-interlaced and is rock steady at 1024x768. I like its
punchy quality, sharp focus and deep colours. I know this model has
been superceded but I believe you can still get it and certainly for the
money you have. It could well be that the new model is even better, I
don't know.
