1024x1024? Are you sure? Do you have a square monitor or do you use a virtual
screen? Usual formats are 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200. 1MB for 1Kx1Kx24bit?

1024x1024= 1 MegaByte.
24 bits = 3 bytes.
1MB*3=3MB

You need a 4MB board for that. 3MB are pretty rare. I hope you have a VLB or
PCI machine because I wouldn't like to drive a 3MB screen through an ISA bus.

What sort of budget? You won't do it for 100 quid. You *will* get a 2MB board
(800x600@24bit or 1024x768@16bit) for about that though. The Matrox
Millennium is getting good reviews recently, but you will pay a bit for it.
Mind you, you will pay for any 4MB video card. What do you want to do with
it? Windows only? DOS? Games? There is little point paying for a super-duper
Windowsy card if you are mainly using DOS (actually I doubt this since you
want 1024x1024).

Arf arf. Good joke. Dead 1MB video card. Have a look in Micro Mart for video
cards and see how cheap live ones are. Also have a look at the rest of the
adverts and see how much some suppliers can fleece you for.
