I have the exact same problem; it's *very* frustrating. I also find
that if I just shut down Trumpet and Netscape and restart them,
the GPFs return almost immediately, and I need to restart Windows.
One method I've found to make it more stable (tho not perfect) is
to hold down the lefthand Alt and Shift keys when the Windows
startup screen appears. This stops the icons in the Startup group
executing, so that nothing else is running when I start Netscape.
Doing this means I can run Netscape for an hour or more without it
barfing, otherwise it falls over within a few minutes.
Have you downloaded the latest ("secure") version of Netscape? This
seems to be more stable, tho I have a hunch that the GPFs are caused
by Trumpet, even tho it's Netscape that barfs.
I try and avoid any large downloads in Netscape as this seems to
make the problem worse - instead I make a note of the address and use
BatchFTP to recover the files.
You could ask in demon.ip.support.winsock to see if anyone there
has any ideas.
cheers,
