Having looked around and found that all the computer casings that would
be ideal for me are out of my proce range, I have decided that I will
make my own. Don't worry I have all the nessecary tools etc but I
would like some help. If you can, please answer some of my questions.#

Can the case be plastic? Will it increase the likely hood of static
electric build up? Do metal cases shield the bits inside from
interference?

If I want to run 8drives (I think that this is the theorectical maximum
on my current set up) what size PSU will I need? Where can I get those
power cable connectors (Maplin doesn't supply just the connectors)?

One of my hard discs(Seagate 540mb) is a *bit* noisy, is this
natural? If so how could I mount the thing so it wouldn't vibrate the
case so much? Would rubber do it?

What should I do to make the case last a lifetime? Should I make it
with 100's of drive bays just in case I buy another drive?

I've got a large fan (out the back of an computer), would this be
better than a couple of small fans?

What type of speaker can a motherboard drive?

Any ideas of anything that my case should have? I've decided to put
the expansion slots etc sticking out from the side of the desk, not the
back.

Thanks for reading(and I'm sorry its so long). Hope someone can
help,I haven't found a good book on it!

Simon
