I need some help from anyone who has tried to get the following two
peripherals to work on an ISA bus (486-33 or 486 DX2-66).

1) Wangtek 1550 EQ 150 MB Tape Drive + PC-02 Controller Card
2) Dest PC Scan Plus Scanner + Its own "SCSI" card

I have had nearly a weak of sleepless nights (and days) tryig to get
these two to work in a PC.

The tape drive has ben installed with I/O address of 288H, DRQ 3 & DACQ 3
and IRQ 2. Uisng SYTOS PLUS, the system sees the streamer, will retension
the tape, but when it comes to writing the volume, there's a brief chug &
then the system just stops. Playig around with IRQs and DMAs (DRQ??) seem
to make little difference (ensuring of course that the softare and card
are always changing to match ach other). I have tried several I/Os but not
the *whole* range. Has anyone managed to install one of these devices on
a 486 machine? (I'v done it on 386s in the past). IF so, can you tell me
if you had any problems, and what settings you settled for. Please e-mail
me rather than newsgroup.

The Dest PC Scan Plus is of 1988 vintage. It is supported by its own
"SCSI" card which allows you to set IRQ=None, DMA 1,2 or 3 and a range
of I/O memory addresses (much like the above PC-02 card). The driver
software is old. Imageinf.sys, Imageinf.exe and Scandrvr.sys.
Again, with setttings IRQ=none, address 270H and DMA 3, I can't get
the scanner to succesfully download the drivers (If anyone has new ones
please e-mail me them as UUencoded files).

Both devices are connnected to the PC properly, both power up and respond
to a PC power on reset.

I'd *REALLY* like to hear some suggested solutions.......
