Dear Freinds, I am running Red Hat Linux 6.1 on a small network of 98 machines and one NT machine. I want the linux machine to run as a server for the dialup connection so one dialup in total is accessed by all the other machines as and when needed. But I need to know is this possible.... Please help. -- Best regards Doug ____________________________________________________ Doug Lawrence Director Vector TRI Ltd Unit 10, Malvern Hills Science Park Geraldine Road MALVERN Worcestershire WR14 3SZ UK +44 (0) 1684 585230 (direct telephone) +44 (0) 1684 585200 (reception) +44 (0) 1684 585356 (fax) +44 (0) 7711 555602 (mobile) mailto: DougL@vector-tri.co.uk (Internet email) http://www.vector-tri.co.uk (website) ____________________________________________________

Yep. pppd and ipppd both support demand dialling. Failing that, use diald. Also, your sig is too long. Paul

Yes. You can use something like Diald for dial-on-demand, or pppd itself. Depending on the type of access you want to give to the other machines, you can use IP masquarading or proxy servers. You will probably want it to handle e-mail as well, for which there are various options, depending on how your ISP delivers your mail. -- Regards, Richard
