He did not build it to bring in visitors, but to impress the few that he invited. I read an interesting (but poorly written) book about the place written by Patty Hearst, a relative and very famous kidnapee. ObFood: Hearst set a very fancy table with very fancy food. However, he insisted that a bottle of catsup always be present on the table.
