Between Santa Barabara and SLO (about .5 hour N of Santa Barbara)
there's a short turnoff that will get you to Solvang, famous for two things:

1) It's a Danish enclave in the US; you can have a smalltown Danish
tourist experience. When I was a kid driving to LA, we always stopped here
for breakfast, there are numerous Danish bakeries and coffeehouses.

2) Just a little further up the same road is Neverland, the Michael Jackson
estate. My guess is that the Solvang coffee shops are still full of
Entertainment
Tonight producers.
