It gets a lot of tourist business because it faces the ferry landing, but I don't think many people go back. Regarding your drive, I've done the dull trip on I-10 from San Antonio to El Paso (got my only speeding ticket ever in Ft. Stockton, TX) and I can tell you that I-5 between SF and LA is far more dull. It's arguably the most dull highway in the nation. Take it if you want to get to SF quickly, but if you want scenic, 101 is better and 1 is the best. - Mike
