Best Steak in Dallas?

I am in need of recommendations for "the Best Steakhouse in Dallas".
Two categories on the basis of cost: (1) spare no expense (e.g.,
anniversary dinner), and (b) a "night out" don't-break-the-bank. My
standard of "best" uses as a benchmark Dan McKlusky's (sp) in Austin,
where they use imported Omaha Beef. "Ambiance" (e.g. woman on a
swing) is not important --- taste, preparation, etc is (unless, I
suppose, it is simply overwhelming like The Big Texan in Amarillo).
O'Neil's on Central in Richardson was "ok", but it burned down. I've
been refered to Del Frisco's, but am looking for any consensus.
Thanks for your gastronomical assistance.

Regards,
Raj

Del Frisco's was recommended to me by a close friend. He rated it
very highly. Del Frisco's is supposed to be in the top 'few' of
American steak resturants. Don't know much more about it.

My favorite is Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. It's on Cedar Springs just
south of Love Field off Mockingbird. Great steaks $16-23. Everything
is ala carte. Steaks are served sizzling in butter, or not if you don't
want it that way. I like their ribeye best and their Potatoes Au-Gratin
are superb.

Personally, I like Baby Doe's Matchless mine by downtown Dallas (next to
that Absolut sign with all the water). Good food (get the beer cheese
soup) and the prices are allright (not by any means a bargain, but you won't
go broke). Old San Fransisco Steakhouse is pretty nice, and I have yet to
have a bad plate there, as well.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist posting this: I think the beer cheese soup
smells like a bowl of puke!!!! RRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLPPPPPHHHHHHH!!!
My brother-in-law and sister love the stuff and I almost got sick the last
time I went to that restaraunt with them.
