I never said she was at the party, just that she went to pick him up
after he called, as per this excerpt from the article:

"When it came time for him to get out, he knew Jenna was in town and
called her cell phone," his father said.
    
If she's like any normal college kid, dad being President or not, she
probably went when called by her friend, not really caring what the
parents might think. I'm sure she will get a talking to from her
parents about thinking before acting.
