Keep in mind that price controls are hardly exclusive to Democrats. Nixon favored price controls on oil, for example. More recently, during the 2004 election, Democrats and Republicans were, in principle, in full agreement that an expansion of Medicare should take place under a new prescription drug program. Expanding Medicare to include a prescription drug program not only represents a vast new increase in government spending, but, in today's managed care environment, it is the perfect Trojan Horse for government to impose price controls on the drug industry > They also have not learned from the mistakes of the British and > Canadians on health care and seem to want to bring those same problems > of rationing of care and long waiting lists here. With cancer, prompt treatment is essential. Glad to see you are doing well, and that you received prompt treatment. It's important to note that in Britain and Canada, many individuals choose private health coverage if they can afford it.
