You are probably right. I failed with you. Or you missed the point?
Naw, I failed with you is easier.

>What you allude to is
>propaganda in the guise of `teaching'.

Fast and lose with rhetoric? Is not all teaching "propaganda" if you
want it to be?
Hint: yes, when one has that agenda in mind.

>There is nothing to prevent
>criticism of such remarks.

There is the gay and lesbian alliance and trans gender lobbies across
the nation and at least in every major city, and many smaller cities
with the "correct" demographics. The lobbies of such are quite vocal,
along with well "intentioned" state boards that "practice tolerance"
and "diversity".

>There is nothing to prevent a schoolboard
>from firing such a `teacher' if they are unhappy with his/her work.

BWHAHAHAHA. I see you have not been in contact with ANY such
governmental agency. Or at least none in California.
It is easier to beat a murder wrap than fire a state employee. And
that is if that same employee murdered the boss!

>There is nothing to prevent a community from demanding action be
>taken.

Well, we disagree here. Try http://www.pacificlegal.org/ for starters.
They began with fighting schools that wish to impose their
"understanding" of the education code. They got SO busy they couldn't
keep up with the demands of just plain folks, like parents. They've
grown in the last five years so fast, if they were a stock they would
be through the roof. THey've expanded services as they HAD to just to
keep up with OUR GOVERNMENT and other NGO entities!

> You are no where given freedom from criticism. Along with
>`freedom' of speech goes responsibility for what is said.

Understood. Tolerance and the ability to be civil is a dying art . So
many wish simply to shout down the quietude. Criticism means something
other than 'critical', but then gone is the gentility of our past
collective experience. As we reinterpret the past and fractionalize
Americans into marginal victims and their "rights".
