No, early music doesn't mean Elvis, Chuck Berry, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Nor
does it mean King Oliver and Kid Ory, or even Johnny Cash and Hank Williams.
We're talking really early music -- Medieval, Renaissance, and folk music.

The Historical Arts Research and Performance Society (HARP) hosts a weekly
music session on Thursday nights in East Dallas. (Casa View area) Any
compatible acoustic music instrument is welcome. Reading music is a strong
plus. So if you have an old band or orchestra instrument you played in high
school or college or if you just want to have fun, let me know. All skill
levels are welcome. We have a book of over 80 tunes to choose from,
available for download at our mailing list site, all in concert pitch with
fairly easy to read melodies but with some more difficult parts to challenge
more advanced players.

Send me an email if you're interested and I'll get you more information.
