Yes, semi-effective spin control. Works the first couple of times
because folks tend to calm down when patted on the head.
Unfortunately it leads to anger and frustration when they finally
figure out that a pat on the head is all they're going to get unless
they jump up and down and rant like a madman.

I suspect that so long as the dirty linen stays in house there will be
no reponse to your problems. I would expect Digex to shut down the only
lines that work for you before resolution of the bugs with the new line.

Unless of course this hurts their ability to gain new customers.

I'm slowly looking for a new ISP but I'm waiting to find a email
mirror that I like as well as watching the big companies jockey for
position (Sprint, MFS, MS, BA, etc). There are some interesting
mergers and purchases that might produce that shakeout of the ISP
market we've been expecting.

With internet connectivity quickly become a commodity market and as
the level of technical expertise increases Digex is going to be
overtaken and surpassed in terms of reliability (not that it's
anything to email home about...when you can) and at 34.95/month it's
already at the high end in terms of cost.

I already decided not to purchase a year's worth of service.
