Subject: Another new nos (0605)
Hello All,
I just managed to upload my latest works onto thumper and wb3ffv.
Tophat will be gone for a week , so teporarely mail to
gvdg@gvdgpc.cdh.cdc.com (shamash.cdc.com is a relay by the powers of MX)
Here are the fixes / additions:
status command now knows about M/Sdos 5.0 (i borrowed a copy from a frend)
(thanks to N1BEE / doug)
The qst to ethernet is fixed (thanks anders.)
i added a subcommand to session # to enable more on a session.
syntax: session # flow on/off
You can set it on any session to enable/disable flow control (page at a time)
The ^s/^q has to many problems to do it easely.
I think of removing rlogin as it is functionaly much less than telnet and
of minor interrest.
I am thinking of a wromhole (not rfc12xx from brian) where ax25 digi
are moved via udp datagrams. Like:
station pa0gri-10 ip 44.137.1.8 command: wormhole wb3ffv-10 44.60.0.1
station wb3ffv-10 ip 44.60.0.1 command: wormhole pa0gri-10 44.137.1.8
Code, in ax25.c a test for next digi, if found in wormhole encapsulate
that frame in datagram and shoot it off into the Network.
To be idealy the machines should have "real" numbers like pa0gri-10
is actualy 127.197.122.10 and known at the internet so routing works.
again, to bad i have to unsubscribe for a week but hope to see some on gvdgpc.
Regards, Gerard.

Subject: DEPCA Ethernet
I have a DEC DEPCA ethernet card. I have no manual and need info on the
jumpers. It has jumpers labeled W1 thru W16. I need to know the I/O address
jumpering, the memory address, and interrupt, etc.
Using a system test program it appears that the memory addressing is sitting
at base D000 at the moment.
Any help would be appreciated. Also if anyone is using this card with
the DEPCA packet driver and NOS.

I just went through the nosebleed of getting the protected mode compiler to
work (bccx) with DOS 5.0. Here's what worked on my SX386 for config.sys:
files = 30
buffers = 20
stacks 0,0
SHELL=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM C:\DOS\ /p /e:800
DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS /shadowram:on
device=c:\dos\emm386.exe frame=e000 ram 4096
device= c:\dos\ramdrive.sys 1024 512 1024 /a
device=c:\lmouse\mouse.sys
device=c:\drivers\burndev.sys
device= c:\drivers\vansi.sys
device=c:\net\netdev.sys
DEVICE=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE
Add to the final linker options -Qe or -Qx to give the compiler access to
the remaining resources. This was done on an 8 meg SX386 machine. The
bccx compiler worked much better under DOS 3.3. I may yet have some serious
work to do to get bccx working smoothly. The 0614 release did compile
successfully under DOS 5.0, and is running cleanly as well. Note that I have
an ARCNET card with its memory window at 0xd000. That's why the frame=e000
was necessary. Many ethernet cards fall in this category as well.

The DEPCA is AO9474U-DEPCA - It is a full size board - 8 bit. It has
a bnc on the back with 2 leds - red and yellow and a round 8 pin. It
has another back rail with the db15 on it. I suspect this board is
rather old. - 1988 or earlier
