: Who appointed you lord high ruler of DUKE.GENERAL (what is crl.com
: anyway)? This is a newsgroup devoted to items of general interest to
: the Duke community. Since the original poster is a visiting professor at Duke,
: this post certainly qualifies.

actually, read the newsgroups list: duke.general, triangle.general,
nc.general, misc.education, soc.college. a few other folks are getting this.

second, grow up people! i'm damn glad i go to wake forest (!) if
everyone at duke acts this way (though i do know a number of people at
duke, though, and they don't act that way). you all should be ashamed of
yourselves because you know better. if you're going to live and work and
study in north carolina, please try to adopt a little bit of a north
carolina attitude and be nice to each other (among other things). i
absolutely hate to see people associated with my state acting this way in
front of the whole world. now that you have been chastised, please stop.

and if you two absolutely must fuss, do it privately, where you won't
embarrass the rest of us!

cheers,

david
