DUKE TO PRESENT FREE PUBLIC LECTURE ON PREGNANCY

DURHAM, N.C. -- If you're planning to have a baby, preparing
your mind and body is vital for the nine-month journey to
motherhood.
A Duke University Medical Center professor will discuss the
steps women can take to prepare for pregnancy during this month's
Health Night Out lecture on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Health Night Out
features Duke experts sharing the latest health information on
the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Center
for Living.
Dr. Jeff Andrews, assistant clinical professor of
obstetrics/gynecology, will present "Pregnancy: Preparing Your
Mind and Body." Nurse clinicians Alice Van Hoose and Kaye Baggett
will also offer advice on the subject of pregnancy.
"Women who are trying to get pregnant often don't realize
that there are certain things they can do to get ready for
pregnancy," Baggett said. "Knowing the proper diet and exercise
is very important for women trying to conceive."
The Duke Center for Living is located off Morreene Road
behind the Duke Credit Union and offers free parking. Seating is
limited, so participants must pre-register by calling (919) 416-
DUKE (416-3853). Directions to the Duke Center for Living are
available upon request.
