Robert Hart of Red Hat Software will be giving a talk in Edinburgh this Monday 29th June on Beowulf and Red Hat Linux in general. Beowulf is a project with the aim of creating software to run off-the-shelf clustered workstations based on standard PC hardware, a high speed network and the Linux operating system. A page about the project can be found at: http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/beowulf/beowulf.html The talk is in room 6206 of the James Clerk Maxwell Building, King's Buildings campus. It will begin at 2pm and last approximately 2 hours. Robert will open with a presentation on Beowulf and conclude with a general Q&A session on Linux. Should anybody be prevented from attending by the time or location, Robert will be having an informal session with the Edinburgh Linux Users' Group in Bannermans pub, the Cowgate, from 7pm. All are welcome. Robert is also the author of the PPP HOWTO for Linux. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gavin Inglis Computing Services Edinburgh University
