Just to let you know that Wing Chun Kung Fu classes have recently opened in Edinburgh. If you fancy learning to defend yourself and getting fit, why not give it a go? In Wing Chun the emphasis is placed on technique rather than strength and the style uses hands and arms at close range rather than depending on high kicks. This makes the style ideal for both men and women, even if you are not particularly flexible. Unique to the system is "Chi Sau", a special form of training which allow you to use your fighting techniques without fear of injury. Classes are held by Sifu Paul Smith, 1994 British Open heavyweight full-contact champion as well as 1994 and 1995 British Open Chi-Sau champion. For more information phone Paul Smith on (0131) 331 1751 or just turn up to a class in loose clothing. Royal Commonwealth Pool (through the cafe): Monday 7.30pm - 9.30pm Saturday 11.00am - 1pm Craiglockhart Sports Centre, Colinton Road (in the creche): Wednesday 7.30pm - 9.00pm
