A que te refieres a select del tipo:
A) select a,b
from TABLA_A
where c in ( select c
from TABLA_B
where d = 2
)
B)
select a,b,( select c from TABLA_B where c = TABLA_A.d ) j
from TABLA_A
where d = 3
POSTGRES si que lo soporta y hay documentacion en castellano
