si vas ha hacer frecuentemente una limieza de pantalla puedes hacer
CLEAR=`tput clear`
y luego cuando la quieras limpiar:
        echo $CLEAR
Por cierto, es  mucho m�s eficiente esta forma de sumar
i=$(($i + 1))
y comprobado .
