I personally have a problem with the use of the word "punished" - I
don't believe there is a some being out there keeeping track of the
positive vs. negative magic you do then meteing out punishment.  What I
believe happens is that what you send out returns to you with strength
gathered to itself.  In other words - the universe is spherical and
"what goes around, comes around"...Karma.
Maybe this is how you mean the word "punish" but for me (with my
childhood indoctination into Christianity) it reeks of a god sitting up
just waiting for me to fail so he can zap me.  I prefer to see it as my
own doing, and I can choose whether I want to deal with the
consequences of a particular action or not.
