I am organising a protest to stop an enormous environmental catastrophe.
Please send a letter either the same or like the one below to any of the
three addresses. I would be eternally gratful if you would.

I am extremely concerned about the conservation of the Pantanal. The
proposed Hidrova project will further degrade the worlds largest and
most important wetland. The wonderful floral and fauna and all
endangered species which live in this amazing region must be protected
for we are the guardians, not the owners of this world.

This project will cause further decline of such species as the
Hyacinthine Macaw - now classified as endangered. Ecotourism is already
bringing money in to this region and will continue to do so at a greater
pace as other parts of the world are destroyed. The uniqueness of this
place is recognized worldwide.

I am pleading for everyone concerned to reconsider the wisdom of this
project. The Pananal must be protected and preserved for future
generations on both intrinsic and economic grounds.

Thankyou very much. If I could ask just one more favour, it would be
that you send me an e mail (will.smith@dial.pipex.com) simply saying
"yes". This way I would know that you had forwarded the message.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou
