what mark sez.  i've done the same; i wear mine for shorter periods
(three or four days) and then toss 'em.  by far, the *most* comfortable
contact lens i've worn.  the daily disposables are just as good.  

things to remember: use them *exactly* as they're prescribed for you
... don't try to make the disposable last longer than it is intended;
this is a false economy and you may end up paying for this in other
ways.  

also ... the first time you get these lenses, don't buy a big supply;
i've found that the curve prescribed by my doctor wasn't as comfortable
as it could be, and we changed my next batch of lenses to a different
curve with excellent results.

finally ... if you can, find an eye care professional that specializes
in contact lens fitting and care.  

if you're looking for more permanent correction then there are several
laser surgeries (RK?) that might do the trick.  i don't know how well
these work (anyone out there can speak to this?  does this work very
well for folks with particularly severe myopia?)
