Certainly was, particularly for those of us who had been UUNET customers
*before* UUNET Canada existed, and had been calling Falls Church, Virginia
direct.

Not only an equivalent dollar rate in US dollars (increase by 1.3 factor
for CDN $) but long distance on top of that.

The arrival of UUNET Canada was a breath of fresh air and was cheap at the
time. Only thing is their rates haven't changed. The "new" ISPs opened up
selling access at loss leader prices which became standard street prices.
The average ISP user is not UUNET Canada's market and has not been for
some time.
