You are not correct in that assumption. A real implementation of this
has no limiting effect on the instruction set; it simply freezes the
information in a recoverable form so that the instructions are either
restartable or continuable.

Does anyone around here (Silicon Valley) have a Depraz mouse I could
take a look at?  These are hemi-spherical mechanical mice made in
Switzerland for $175.  People at BBN have been very pleased with their
performance.
