After talking to the Sony Tech support folks, I discovered that having
this camera plugged in to your USB port, and having the 3dfx Voodoo3
3500 TV does not allow the USB connection to work. The symptoms are
described below. The real problem is the TV tuner driver. I remove
the 3dfx Voodoo3 TV Tuner driver from the device manager and the
problem goes away. Just as a reference if anyone else is going
through this nightmare, in order to use your camera with the USB port,
you have to remove the driver from your device manager (its under the
Sound, video and game controllers section). Use your camera and then
reboot. Upon rebooting your computer SHOULD recognize that it is
missing the driver for the TV Tuner hardware that it finds and
re-installs it. Cheesy, I know.
