Elvis is a freely-redistributable clone of vi/ex, the standard UNIX editor.

Elvis 1.7 can be fetched via anonymous FTP from m2xenix.psg.com, in the
"pub/elvis" directory.  This directory contains Elvis 1.7, the most current
release of my "vi" clone.  The files in this directory are...

Elvisman.txt	A plain-text version of the elvis documentation
elv17doc.sh	The troff-source for the Elvis documentation
elv17exe.zoo	MS-DOS executables, plus a plain-text version of the manual
elv17src.sh	The C source code & Makefiles for elvis
unshar.c	A portable "shar" archive extracter (for *.sh files)
update17.sh	Patch kit for converting 1.6 source code into 1.7 source code
zoo.exe		MS-DOS executable of "zoo" archiver (for *.zoo files)
