Hi, I am a vi editor rookie and need some pointers on how to type utf-8 characters in gvim. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me how to type these characters in vi. Thanks, Indominatus

What is your platform and environment?
Windows (2000/XP/2003)? --> change CMD.EXE's options and try CHARMAP.EXE.
MacOS X --> You can type it by default
X11 (Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, etc.) --> it depends on your desktop
environment (KDE, GNOME, etc.) and terminal emulator.

Okay, you need escape sequence...
Try 'man 7 utf-8' on Linux, and you'll find 'ESC % G' and 'ESC % @' sequences.
Hope this works.
