Over the last 40 years we have become aware of the benefit of music in education programs because of the research of people Colin Rose [Accelerated Learning], and the studies from the Russians. I was unable to find suitable music for accelerated learning and superlearning purposes, so I have produced a CD for this purpose. It is easy to listen to guitar music, Baroque at 60 beats per minute. This kind of music has been shown to produce more alpha brain waves - that are associated with "relaxed concentration", than silence or any other type of music. [Much better than rock, which is a real shame.] You can get a free download of some of the music from http://www.ultra.net.au/learn as well as a brief discussion of how it is thought to work. [There is also a free competition to win copies.] It is the perfect music to play while studying or just relaxing. It is becoming more popular with commuters who have to deal with mongrel traffic. You arrive less stressed and tired. Australian schools are now purchasing it for use, and licences for schools to copy for their own students use are available and popular. If you would like to purchase a school copy, contact me by email. It is worth a look. If you have no access to www, e-mail me and I will send you the text of the pages. Thanks, James Hooper hooper@ultra.net.au http://www.ultra.net.au/learn for the music http://www.ultra.net.au/buteyko for info on asthma. Australian Clinical Trial showed an average 90% decrease in drug need just by using this simple breathing technique.
