Vector and tensor manipulation

Hello,

I have a simple question about a reduce application. My apologies if this
question has been asked before but I am a relatively new user of Reduce.

I am interested in manipulating the Navier-Stokes equations in arbitrary
coordiate systems - I wish to investigate the use of different base vectors in
terms of number of terms and simplicity for later development of a new CFD
(Computational fluid dynamics) program. I would like to represent the velocity
vector in contra/covariant/cartesian forms and mixed versions of these.

We have Reduce3.3 here at Cranfield, though I am relatively inexperienced. I
dont see an easy way of carrying out the above task using Reduce. I have
investigated the EXCALC package but unfortunately I am not familiar with the
terminology that is used. What I thought I needed was a package that could
manipulate vectors and tensors in arbitrary coordinate systems which would then
expand the equations in terms of the indices. There is a vector package in
reduce-netlib but this is limited to orthogonal coordinates.

Any comments or suggestions would be really welcome.

Thanks in advance,
