There does not yet seem to be a publicly accessible service allowing
to access the Internet. Except by a personnal arrangement with an
organization already connected that would allow you to use their
ressources, you might want to consider an "email-only" solution.
Several seem to be around...

the organizations furnishing it. I do not endorse any of those
companies!

  French Data Network (FDN)     (not for profit organization)

     Provides UUCP (only) access to their servers (3 modem lines in and
     near Paris, from V.22 to V.32bis, no Minitel).
     Primary registration (FRF 2500/year + one time FRF 250 fee)
     allows to get all news received by FDN (currently mainly Mac and
     NeXT newsgroups) and a quota of 100 Kb of mail per month.
     Extensions may be purchased.  For more information, please

  Oleane Network

     Provides both UUCP and interactive access to their servers 
     (located in Paris, all modems support up to V32bis with V42bis).
     Fees are FRF-HT 500 / month, interactive sessions cost 60/hour and
     mail is charged from 0 to 1,30 / 1000c, depending on its 
     origin/destination.
     Some newsgroups are available without any supplement as well as 
     some archives (gnu, NeXT ...).

Following organizations which *might* furnish similar services have
also been contacted, but I did not yet get an answer to my
requests: Calvacom, Compuserve, and Fnet. I'll incorporate informations
on those as soon as I get something.
