                        Call For Participation

International Symposium on Functional and Logic Programming (FLOPS '99)

                           Tsukuba, Japan
                        November 11-13, 1999

               http://www.score.is.tsukuba.ac.jp/flops99

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

FLOPS is an annual series of forums to present and discuss all issues
concerning functional programming, logic programming, and their
integration. The symposium takes place about every 1.5 years in
Japan. Previous FLOPS meetings were held in Fuji Susuno (1995), Shonan
Village (1996), and Kyoto (1998). FLOPS '99 will take place at ETL
(Electrotechnical Laboratory) in Tsukuba, sponsored by the Japan
Society of Software Science and Technology, Special Interest Group on
Principles of Programming and ETL.

We welcome you to participate in FLOPS'99.

[ Invited talks ]:
  * Semantics and Types in Functional Logic Programming
Mario Rodriguez-Artalejo (Universidad Complutense de Madrid)
  * The Logical Abstract Machine: a Curry-Howard isomorphism
    for machine code
    Atsushi Ohori (Kyoto University)

[ Techincal sessions ]:
There are 21 contributed talks on various topics related to
funtional/logic programming (see FLOPS '99 home page
  http://www.score.is.tsukuba.ac.jp/flops99 for a program)

[ Proceedings ]:
The proceedings will be published as a volume in Lecture Notes in
  Computer Science, Springer-Verlag.

[ Banquet ]:
The conference banquet will be held on Friday 12 November.

[ Registration and Accommodation ]:
To register, follow the instruction found in the URL below.

	http://www.etl.go.jp/~yoshiki/FLOPS99/

We also take care of booking a room in Sakura-kan (Guest House); see
  also the above registration page.
