I'd be, well, not half tempted, but maybe 10% tempted, except that as I saw and as is being reported on the thread, this happened to EVERYONE. Why should the person with the least trust in prosecutors be the one to try to press a case with them, when it's obviously being tolerated on a city-wide basis? The way I see it, if I pressed the case, one of three things could happen... a) I could spend years and get a nominal reform to the rules, stating that so-and-so doesn't eyeball the ballot, and then the Machine would invent some other way of doing essentially the same thing within 24 hours. b) I could lose the case and set a federal precedent that low-level election officials have the right to eyeball every ballot openly. c) I could get prosecuted for leaving out my middle initial on a voter registration card and then "fraudulently" voting, hence making the case moot and unpursuable, have bizarre Democrat Machine Mafia people pawing through my trash or threatening me with bodily harm, get sued for slandering election officials by my observation, or all of the above. Personally I'd bet on option (c), but I can't swear to it. -- "Williams said the officer went to the car and found a mouse, which had been injured and was bleeding. The officer took the mouse to an animal hospital for treatment." "6 Arrested in Rodent-Tossing Case", _The San Diego Union-Tribune_, October 5, 2000 "Animal-rights groups have been watching the case and have told police they want stiff punishment meted out, police said."
