And......?  Why not spread an unsubstantiated rumor as far as it will go?

Have you read the poems in question?  I have--back when that made the
news, our local paper published them both.  You'd be reaching pretty far
to call it plagiarism.  There are a couple of images in common, but I
don't think you could even argue convincingly that one was inspired by the
other.  It's the sort of thing that two people independently trying to
express a similar idea might come up with.  In any event, Maya Angelou's
was far the better poem, IMO.
